Man Dies in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident on 710 Freeway

 
LONG BEACH, CA (October 6, 2021) — A 33-year-old man died in a pedestrian crash on the 710 freeway near 9th Street.
 
According to Long Beach Police, the fatal incident happened around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday. For unknown reasons, a driver in an SUV struck the 33-year-old who tried crossing the seaside freeway after walking alongside the right shoulder. Subsequently, the driver fled the scene, leaving the victim with grave injuries.
 
Soon after, paramedics and authorities arrived to confirm the man’s death.
 
At this time, the victim’s identity, the driver’s identity and the ultimate circumstances of the crash require further investigation.
