Man Hurt in San Diego Skateboard Crash on Nimitz Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 6, 2021) — A man suffered injuries in a skateboard accident on Nimitz Boulevard near Point Loma Boulevard Tuesday morning.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident happened around 7:45 a.m. For unknown reasons, a 27-year-old man on a skateboard entered the intersection against a red traffic light. Subsequently, a 63-year-old Subaru driver heading southbound on Nimitz Boulevard struck the skateboarder with a green light.
As a result, the skateboarder suffered life-threatening injuries. Soon after, paramedics brought him to UC San Diego Medical Center. Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
