Two Dead in Santa Clara Accidents on Highway 237 and Highway 101 near Great America Parkway
SANTA CLARA, CA (October 19, 2021) — Two people were killed in two separate accidents on Highway 237 and Highway 101 over the weekend.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the first happened on Highway 101 near Tully Road around 2:47 a.m. Saturday. For unknown reasons, a yellow Mitsubishi heading northbound rear-ended a white van. Subsequently, the driver of the Mitsubishi exited the vehicle, but a white Lexus struck the driver standing in the road. Soon after, paramedics pronounced the driver of the Mitsubishi dead at the scene.
The following evening, an accident happened around 10:41 p.m. Sunday. For unknown reasons, a man was standing on the right shoulder of Highway 237. Shortly after, a Honda Accord veered off the road and struck a Honda Fit, which then struck the man standing.
Soon after, CHP officers tried performing CPR on the victim, but the patient died at 10:59 pm.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Honda Accord whose vehicle was struck by another car survived the crash with minor injuries.
