Sherolyn Scott Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Los Angeles
MANCHESTER SQUARE, CA (October 20, 2021) – A female pedestrian was hit and killed while walking in a crosswalk by a hit-and-run motorist in the Manchester Square area of Los Angeles on Saturday, October 16.
The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Sherolyn Scott, according to the coroner’s office.
The fatal crash happened around 11:25 a.m. at the intersection of Normandie Avenue and 83rd Street. However, the incident began with a minor crash and Manchester Avenue and Normandie Avenue. After the accident, an involved vehicle fled the scene.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Scott was walking in a designated crosswalk when the hit-and-run vehicle struck her. The fleeing driver’s car became disabled on 79th Street and he ran away.
Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still investigating the incident and on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect. Anyone with information on the driver was asked to call LAPD’s South Traffic Division detectives at 323-421-2500. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
