Woman Hospitalized after Traffic Crash on 5 Freeway near Gilman Road

 
LAKEHEAD, CA (October 4, 2021) — A woman suffered injuries in a traffic accident on 5 Freeway just before 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the woman drove north on 5 Freeway near Gilman Road. Then she sideswiped a pick-up truck. Both vehicles stopped into the center median.
 
The woman allegedly jumped over the median wall multiple times and crossed into southbound traffic. A vehicle headed southbound struck the woman. She suffered injuries to her leg and medics rushed her to the hospital.
 
The CHP continues to investigate why she was on the road and if she was under the influence.
