Head-On Crash on Highway 99E in Los Molinos Kills One Man and Seriously Injures Another
LOS MOLINOS, CA (March 23, 2024) – A man was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 99E in Los Molinos Friday morning on March 22.
The fatal accident happened near Palm Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 35-year-old Redding man was driving his 2015 Nissan Sentra northbound on the highway when he allowed his vehicle to cross a double parallel yellow line into the southbound lane.
The Nissan traveled directly into the path of a southbound 2019 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by 54-year-old Kirk Brown, who was also from Redding. The vehicles then collided head-on.
First responders extricated both men from their vehicles.
The driver of the Nissan was airlifted to Enloe Health, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name was not immediately available.
Brown suffered major injuries and was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
The Red Bluff CHP Office is handling the investigation.
