Pedestrian Killed, Hung Vuu Arrested in DUI Crash on Fremont Boulevard [Fremont, CA]

Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Drunk Driver in Fremont

 
FREMONT, CA (May 7, 2024) – A pedestrian was killed in a DUI crash in Fremont late Friday evening on May 3.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 45000 block of Fremont Boulevard. According to the Fremont Police Department, 58-year-old Hung Vuu of Sunnyvale was driving in the area when he struck the pedestrian and a traffic signal pole.
 
The impact caused the pedestrian major injuries. Responding officers provided medical aid to the victim.
 
Fremont Fire Department and medical personnel arrived soon after and took over medical care, but the victim died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, Vuu sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
 
Police later arrested Vuu on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of an alcohol.
