Man Hit and Killed by Car on Del Sol Boulevard near Kostner Drive [Otay Mesa, CA]

37-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Struck by SUV on Del Sol Boulevard in Otay Mesa

 
OTAY MESA, CA (August 4, 2024) – A 37-year-old man was hit and killed by a car on Del Sol Boulevard in Otay Mesa Friday evening on August 2.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 7:00 p.m. near Kostner Drive. According to the San Diego Police Department, the victim was walking southbound across Del Sol Boulevard when a 2010 Toyota SUV, driven by a 77-year-old woman, failed to stop at the stop sign and struck him.
 
The impact caused the victim severe head trauma. Responding paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he later died.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
It was unclear if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
 
Traffic Division officers are still investigating the circumstances of the fatality.
