Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Car on Gavilan Court in Gilroy

 
GILROY, CA (August 11, 2024) – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident at Gavilan Court and Murray Avenue in Gilroy on Thursday night.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:45 p.m. on August 8. According to the Gilroy Police Department, a motorcycle and a car collided at the intersection, sending the rider onto the roadway.
 
First responders immediately provided aid to the victim who suffered life-threatening injuries.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, the motorcyclist did not survive and was declared dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, both the driver and passenger of the car were taken to area hospitals with minor to major injuries.
 
At this time, the identity of the motorcyclist was not immediately available pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Gilroy police asked anyone with further information to call Traffic Sgt. McMahon at 408-846-0521 or the anonymous tip line at 408-846-0330. The case number is 24-3599.
