Collision Between Trash Truck and Sedan on Soledad Canyon Road Leaves One Person Dead

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (August 11, 2024) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Soledad Canyon Road in Santa Clarita Friday morning on August 9.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a Burrtec trash truck and a gold Honda sedan collided in the 17900 block of Soledad Canyon Road, just north of 14 Freeway around 8:00 a.m. The impact sent the sedan underneath the truck.
 
Responding firefighters used Jaws of Life cutters to extricate the trapped driver of the sedan.
 
The sedan driver, only described as a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Another person suffered unspecified injuries.
 
Sheriff’s Station officials are still investigating the exact cause of the crash and factors involved.
