Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Highway 101 near Broadway Street in King City

 
KING CITY, CA (August 23, 2024) – A pedestrian died in an accident on Highway 101, Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 21, at about 7:00 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a white SUV hit a pedestrian on southbound Highway 101 near the Broadway Street offramp.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
Responders temporarily closed the roadway to make way for an investigation. As per reports, the roadway was reopened after three hours.
 
DUI is not suspected at this time.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
