36-Year-Old Jessica Chavez Arrested after Police Pursuit on Manhattan Beach Boulevard in Gardena

 
GARDENA, CA (August 25, 2024) – Authorities identified 36-year-old Jessica Chavez of Inglewood as the person arrested after crashing into a police vehicle on Manhattan Beach Boulevard, Wednesday afternoon.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the incident happened on August 21, at about 1:00 p.m. Personnel stopped at the scene to assist Chavez, who was involved in an altercation.
 
Chavez reportedly became irate and attempted to physically hit a responding firefighter and the department SUV.
 
When the Gardena police arrived, Chavez ran to her white Audi sedan and fled the area. The brief pursuit came to an end when Chavez slammed into an unmarked police car and the LA County Fire SUV near Marigold Avenue.
 
Authorities later booked Chavez for assault on a firefighter or EMT, assault with a deadly weapon, and driving under the influence.
 
No major injuries were reported.
