Officer, 2 People Hospitalized in 2-Car Crash at Brown Street in Mead Valley

 
MEAD VALLEY, CA (September 3, 2024) — A deputy and two people suffered minor to major injuries in a 2-car accident at Brown Street and Oakwood Street.
 
The two-car accident happened around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a Toyota Camry approaching Oakwood Street collided with a northbound Ford Explorer SUV, driven by a Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy. The sedan collided with the Ford Explorer’s passenger side, resulting in an impact that caused minor injuries to the officer and moderate to major injuries to two people in the sedan.
 
Subsequently, paramedics responded and attended to the patients who were not identified.
 
After the crash, California Highway Patrol officers began investigating the details and determined that Oakwood Street had stop signs, but Brown Street did not. Impairment did not factor into the cause. However, the authorities are looking into the possibilities.
