Woman on Scooter Fatally Struck by Box Truck on Alhambra Boulevard in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (September 2, 2024) – A woman riding an electric scooter was hit and killed by a truck on Alhambra Boulevard, Thursday morning.
 
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident happened on August 29, at about 10:30 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a box truck hit the woman near Capitol Avenue and Folsom Boulevard.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the box truck remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
Responders temporarily closed Alhambra Boulevard from Capitol Avenue to L Street to make way for an investigation. As per reports, the road closures lasted several hours.
 
Sacramento police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
