Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Driver on Clairemont Drive in Bay Bridge
BAY BRIDGE, CA (October 4, 2024) — A 72-year-old pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Clairemont Drive near Dakota Drive Wednesday.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the pedestrian accident occurred around 7:25 p.m. For an unknown reason, the 72-year-old man started crossing on Clairmont Drive when a northbound driver proceeded on a green light. Subsequently, the 76-year-old female driver struck the pedestrian who stepped out in front of the vehicle.
As a result of the crash, the man passed away from severe injuries. Officials did not release his name.
At this time, traffic division officers are looking into the details of the crash and have yet to identify the leading factors. If anyone has more information, call San Diego Police.
