22-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Plumas Lake
PLUMAS LAKE, CA (October 20, 2024) – Joshua Steven Barrick was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Plumas Lake on September 29.
The fatal crash happened around 8:20 p.m. on Feather River Boulevard, just south of Algodon Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, an unknown vehicle struck Barrick and fled the scene.
When officers arrived, they found Barrick lying unresponsive in the roadway.
Despite life-saving efforts, Barrick died at the scene. He was 22 years old.
CHP said alcohol is considered a factor in the crash. They urged anyone with further information to contact their office at 530-645-6200 and ask for Officer Quigley. During after-hours, tipsters can call CHP Chico Communications Center at 530-332-1200 and ask for Officer Coxe.
