SUV Crashes on 15 Freeway in Baker Killing Three People, Including 9-Year-Old Girl
BAKER, CA (October 14, 2024) – Three people were killed in a car accident on 15 Freeway outside of Baker Saturday afternoon on October 12.
The fatal accident happened around 4:30 p.m. just south of the Halloran Summit Road near milepost marker 154. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Toyota SUV was traveling northbound on the freeway when it crashed into the center median.
The SUV then continued in a northeast direction and struck a concrete embankment within the Kali Ditch.
As a result of the crash, all three passengers inside the SUV died at the scene.
Authorities only identified the victims as a 9-year-old girl, a 43-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man. All of them were Santa Monica residents.
It was unknown if alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation. Anyone with further information is urged to contact Officer L. Roberson at 760-255-5900.
