4 Hospitalized in Car Accident in Whiskeytown National Recreation Area [Whiskeytown, CA]

Jeep Goes Off Embankment in the Whiskeytown National Reaction Area Injuring Four People

 
WHISKEYTOWN, CA (November 15, 2024) – Four people were hospitalized in a car accident in the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area Saturday on November 9.
 
The accident happened just after noon, off of John F. Kennedy Memorial Drive towards Brandy Creek. According to the California Highway Patrol, a jeep with four occupants went down an embankment off of a dirt road in the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area.
 
Officers said the jeep and its occupants were traveling in tandem with another party in a Jeep. They were following each other up the dirt road.
 
When one of the jeeps lost contact with the other, they went back down to search for their friends. They located the jeep down an embankment off of the dirt road.
 
All four occupants of the first Jeep suffered moderate injuries, including head lacerations.
 
One person was taken away by ground ambulance, and three were airlifted from the scene.

An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
