Irving Mcdade Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Santa Clara Street and Jackson Street
HAYWARD, CA (November 27, 2024) — Irving Mcdade died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Santa Clara Street and Jackson Street.
According to Hayward Police Officers, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 10:00 p.m. Monday. For unknown reasons, a driver left the scene after hitting 68-year-old Mcdade at an intersection devoid of a marked crosswalk. The unidentified driver momentarily stopped before fleeing the scene and leaving a license plate behind.
Moments after the accident, paramedics took Mcdade, of Hayward, to the hospital where he passed away. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office recently identified him.
Following an investigation, Hayward Police officers located the driver nearby and conducted a traffic stop. At this time, officers are determining whether the driver was at fault and if DUI factored into the cause.
