13-Year-Old Boy Dies after Struck by Vehicle while Riding His Bike in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 19, 2024) – Jeremiah Villalobos was struck and killed by a vehicle in northeast Bakersfield Wednesday afternoon on November 13.
The fatal crash happened around 4:15 p.m. on Loyola Street at Columbus Street. According to the CHP, Villalobos was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle at the intersection.
Villalobos suffered significant injuries from the crash. He was rushed to Kern Medical Center, where he died hours later. He was 13 years old, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
Loved ones created a GoFundMe page for the victim’s funeral expenses.
It was unclear if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
Further investigation is underway.
