Off-Road Crash in Dumont Dunes Kills Las Vegas Resident and Injures Several Others

 
DUMONT DUNES, CA (November 15, 2024) – Levi R. Fackrell was killed in an off-road crash in Dumont Dunes Sunday afternoon on November 10.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:30 p.m. within the Dumont Dunes off-highway vehicle area. According to the CHP, Fackrell was driving a 2020 Jeep Gladiator northbound at an undetermined speed. The vehicle was carrying three additional passengers, a 41-year-old woman and two juveniles, aged 8 and 7, all from Las Vegas.
 
For unknown reasons, Fackrell lost control of the Jeep, which veered off a steep dirt embankment. The front of the vehicle struck the ground before it overturned on its roof.
 
Fackrell suffered fatal injuries from the crash and died at the scene. He was a 45-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada resident, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
 
The other passengers were treated for minor injuries and transported to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas.

At this time, authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. An investigation is ongoin.
