Pedestrian Passed Out Dies in Gading Road Accident in Hayward
HAYWARD, CA (November 22, 2024) — A pedestrian who passed out was hit and killed by a car on Gading Road near Huntwood Way.
According to Hayward Police officers, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a man passed out in a parking lot in the 26000 block of Gading Road. Subsequently, a driver making a U-turn who did not see the man lying on the ground ran over him.
Soon after, police officers responded to the scene to speak to the pedestrian who was still conscious and breathing. From there, paramedics transported the patient to a hospital where the victim’s health progressively declined, leading to his death.
After the accident, the 52-year-old Hayward driver cooperated with police investigators.
The Alameda County Coroner’s office has not released the victim’s name. If anyone has more information on this fatal accident, call Hayward police at (510) 293-7011 and refer to case number 2024-66440.
