Candy La Torre Zapata Killed in 2-Car Crash on Highway 101 near Winnetka Avenue

 
WOODLAND HILLS, CA (November 22, 2024) — Candy La Torre Zapata died in a two-car accident on Highway 101 near Winnetka Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal car accident happened around 12:12 a.m. Saturday. CHP officers responded to find a damaged silver BMW and black BMW. At the scene, large debris littered the lanes, and police found a woman underneath one of the cars.
 
The victim, later identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as 39-year-old Candy La Torre Zapata, died at the scene.
 
Officers issued a SigAlert for the southbound freeway for several hours to investigate the crash. The report did not include information on the drivers involved or what led to the accident.
