Car Splits into Two after Crashing Head-On into Truck on Highway 140 in Merced County

 
MERCED COUNTY, CA (November 13, 2024) – A teen driver was hurt in a head-on accident on Highway 140 in Merced County Tuesday morning on November 12.
 
The crash happened just after 9 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 140 near Arboleda Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old girl from Le Grand was driving a Honda Civic when she lost control of the car. She then collided head-on with a truck, causing the Civic to split into two.
 
Luckily, the teen only sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
 
The driver of the truck was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
 
It was unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors. Further investigation is underway.
