2 Killed in 3-Vehicle Crash on Clark Avenue in Santa Maria
SANTA MARIA, CA (December 18, 2024) — Two people died in a 3-car accident on Clark Avenue near Presquile Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly multi-car crash happened around 2:15 p.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, the driver of an eastbound Honda Fit stopped to turn left but was rear-ended by an eastbound 2020 Chevrolet Silverado. The impact caused the 2007 Honda Fit to enter the westbound lanes where it was hit by a westbound 2018 Ram truck.
Subsequently, paramedics and police responded to 2617 E. Clark Ave. and spoke to two uninjured occupants: the Silverado and RAM drivers.
Tragically, the front-seat passenger of the Honda Fit passed away minutes later at the scene. Paramedics rushed the Honda Fit driver and a rear-seat passenger to Marian Regional Medical Center where the driver died.
Authorities did not release their names.
CHP officers from the Santa Maria office closed the area to investigate the accident. However, they have yet to confirm the ultimate cause of the crash.
