25-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by SUV on Highway 78 in Escondido

 
ESCONDIDO, CA (December 8, 2024) – Pablo Ivan Lopez Marin was hit and killed by a vehicle in Escondido last month on November 24.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:22 p.m. on Highway 78, just between Rock Springs Road and Center City Parkway. Accordin to the CHP, Marin was running across the eastbound highway when he was struck by a Toyota SUV.
 
The impact of the crash caused Marin fatal injuries and he died at the scene. He was a 25-year-old Spring Valley resident, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
The driver of the Toyota, a 28-year-old woman, and her 19-year-old passenger stayed at the scene and were not injured.
 
At this time, the circumstances of the crash are still under investigation.
