1 Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 118 Freeway in Pacoima

 
PACOIMA, CA (December 6, 2024) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on the 118 Freeway near Glenoaks Boulevard.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday. Under unclear circumstances, a pedestrian was hit on the westbound lanes of the freeway. Subsequently, authorities responded to the scene and began investigating the crash but did not confirm the leading cause. One person died in the accident, but authorities did not release his or her name.
 
Due to the crash, CHP issued a SigAlert for the four right-most lanes for four hours as they investigated.
