Woman Dies in Head-On Accident on Utica Avenue near 5 Freeway [Kettleman City, CA]

1 Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Utica Avenue in Kettleman City

 
KETTLEMAN CITY, CA (December 6, 2024) — A woman died in Wednesday’s head-on accident on Utica Avenue near the 5 Freeway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 7:30 a.m.
 
During dense foggy weather, a man driving an eastbound Chevrolet Malibu reportedly veered into the westbound lane. Subsequently, the man’s Chevrolet Malibu struck a westbound Jeep Compass head-on.
 
A woman seated in the right front seat of the Malibu passed away in the crash. The Chevy driver and a rear-seat passenger sustained moderate injuries, as well as the Jeep Compass driver.
 
Officials did not release the fatal victim’s name or the leading cause of the accident. However, CHP confirmed that the fog reduced visibility conditions. If anyone has seen this collision, call CHP to help with the case.
