Speeding Driver Crashes into Foothill Transit Bus on West Monterey Avenue in Pomona Killing One Person and Injuring Three Others
POMONA, CA (January 23, 2025) – One person died and three other people were injured in a high-speed crash at West Monterey Avenue and North Garey Avenue in Pomona on Tuesday evening.
The fatal crash happened around 9:52 p.m. on January 21. According to the Pomona Police Department, a silver, four-door sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a Foothill Transit bus, which was stopped at a red light heading to the Foothill Transit Center.
As a result, one person suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported three passengers on the bus to hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
