Enrique Barajas Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Atlantic Avenue [Long Beach, CA]

80-Year-Old Bicyclist Dies after Sideswiped by Hit-and-Run Driver in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (January 23, 2025) – Enrique Barajas was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Long Beach Monday afternoon on January 20.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:15 p.m. at Atlantic Avenue and Pleasant Street. According to the Long Beach Police Department, Barajas was riding his bicycle northbound on Atlantic Avenue when he merged into another lane. That was when a white SUV traveling in the same direction sideswiped him.
 
After the crash, the driver of the SUV took off without stopping.
 
Barajas suffered critical injuries and died the following day at the hospital. He was 80 years old of Long Beach.
 
The suspect remains at large.
