Car Fatally Strikes One Pedestrian and Critically Injures Another in Jurupa Valley
JURUPA VALLEY, CA (January 5, 2025) – Freddie Madina was hit and killed by a car in Jurupa Valley Thursday night on January 2.
The fatal crash happened around 6:05 p.m. at Mission Boulevard and Soto Avenue. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Madina and another pedestrian were walking at the intersection when a vehicle struck them.
Deputies arrived and found the two victims lying in the roadway.
The driver remained at the scene while deputies and CalFire provided medical aid to the victims.
Paramedics then rushed the pair to a local hospital, where Madina later succumbed to his injuries. The other victim was listed in critical condition.
Madina was 42 years old of Jurupa Valley, according to the coroner’s office.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and detectives have not yet determined if drugs or alcohol were factors.
