37-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA (January 28, 2025) – Juan Lopez Peñuelas was struck and killed by a vehicle in Santa Ana Wednesday night on January 22.
The fatal crash happened around 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of First Street and Harbor Boulevard. According to the Santa Ana Police Department, Peñuelas was walking southbound through First Street when an eastbound vehicle struck him.
As a result, Peñuelas suffered significant injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died.
Peñuelas was a 37-year-old San Clemente resident.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for Peñuelas funeral expenses.
Peñuelas was a father of two boys, a young boy who had just turned one and a teenage boy.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with police. They did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
