Man Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Union Avenue near East 9th Street in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 28, 2025) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Union Avenue, Tuesday evening.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident happened on February 25, shortly before 11:00 p.m. A pedestrian attempted to cross eastbound when a northbound Honda hit him near East 9th Street.

Emergency crews pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Honda remained and cooperated with investigators.
