Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Several Vehiles in Monterey Park

 
MONTEREY PARK, CA (January 31, 2025) – Manuel Gonzalez was hit and killed by several vehicles in Monterey Park late Wednesday evening on January 29.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:08 p.m. on eastbound 10 Freeway at the connector road to the 710 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, Gonzalez was walking in a construction zone in the middles lanes of the freeway connector when he was struck by a dark colored vehicle.
 
After the initial crash, several other vehicles also struck Gonzalez.
 
As a result, Gonzalez suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 47 years old, according to the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner.
 
It was unclear if the involved drivers stayed after the crash.
 
Further investigation is underway.
