Rico Pallares Killed in Car Accident on 710 Freeway [Long Beach, CA]

47-Year-Old Passenger Dies after Car Crashes into Freeway Sign in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (January 31, 2025) – Rico Pallares was killed in a car accident in Long Beach early Thursday morning on January 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:57 a.m. on 710 Freeway at the Del Amo Boulevard off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, an SUV was traveling westbound on the freeway when it slammed into a freeway sign and a Metro Line maintenance yard fence.
 
First responders found two people trapped in the SUV.
 
Pallares was the passenger of the car. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 47 years old, according to the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner.
 
The driver was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
