Authorities Identify Driver Killed in Bakersfield Crash on 5 Freeway
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 13, 2021) The Kern County coroner’s office identified Santoge Thearry Declouette as the man who died in a collision with a semi truck in Bakersfield early Sunday morning, April 4.
The collision happened just after 3:00 a.m. on 5 Freeway, north of the California Aqueduct Overpass. The 39-year-old Los Angeles resident was driving a vehicle when he collided with the semi truck for unknown reasons.
As a result, Declouette suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
The condition of the semi truck driver was unknown.
No further details regarding the nature of the collision have been released.
At this time, authorities are still trying to determine the exact cause of the accident and liability.
