Police Arrest Andrew Anderson for DUI and Child Endangerment after Crash in Chico
CHICO, CA (October 23, 2021) – Police arrested Andrew Anderson for DUI after a traffic collision in Chico Friday, October 15.
The collision happened around 8:15 p.m. on 16th Street near Laural Street. According to the Chico Police Department, the 31-year-old suspect was driving a vehicle when he crashed into a large dump truck trailer that was parked on the street.
When officers arrived, they located the vehicle with front-end damage in a yard nearby.
Anderson was not injured. Police then arrested him for DUI with a blood alcohol content of over .30%.
Police added that Anderson had two children in the vehicle who both sustained minor injuries. They also found a 12-gauge shotgun in the passenger’s seat.
Police booked Anderson into the Butte County Jail for DUI, child endangerment, felon in possession of a firearm and committing a felony while out on bail for a felony.
An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
