Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Highway 140 near Lincoln Boulevard

 
LIVINGSTON, CA (October 28, 2021)Isidro Ramirez was killed in a bicycle accident on Highway 140 in Livingston Sunday last week.
 
The accident happened around 4:20 a.m. on October 17, just east of Lincoln Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, Ramirez was riding a bicycle east in the eastbound lane of the highway when a 1997 GMC Sierra also traveling in the eastbound lane rear-ended him.
 
Arriving paramedics rushed Ramirez to Mercy Medical Center in Merced, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Ramirez was a 69-year-old Livingston resident, according to the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office.
 
The driver of the vehicle cooperated with officers and neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be a factor in the collision.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the accident.
