Two-Car Accident on Comanche Drive in Bakersfield Leaves 1 Driver with Fatal Injuries
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 4, 2021) – A woman was killed in a two-car accident on Comanche Drive in Bakersfield Sunday morning.
The accident happened around 11:39 a.m. on October 3, near Edison Highway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a Mazda northbound on Comanche Drive when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Edison Highway.
The woman then lost control and struck a Subaru that was heading south on Comanche Drive.
As a result, the woman sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office will release her identity once her family members are properly notified.
The male driver of the Subaru and a 9-year-old had minor to moderate injuries.
CHP officials are still looking further into the accident to determine the factors involved.
