Toddler Killed in 2-Car Crash at Baseline Avenue in Fontana
FONTANA, CA (May 3, 2024) — A 3-year-old died in a 2-car accident at Baseline Avenue and Almeria Avenue.
According to the Fontana Police Department, the fatal two-car crash happened around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, an eastbound white Honda Accord traveling eastbound on Baseline struck a red Nissan Altima.
Subsequently, Fontana Police and paramedics arrived to assess the situation. Three people suffered pain and other non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and Loma Linda University Medical Center for care. Tragically, a 3-year-old child in the Nissan Altima passed away.
According to an investigation, the red Nissan Altima was turning left onto southbound Almeria Avenue when the impact occurred. At this time, authorities have yet to identify the cause, but police found no signs of intoxication or drug use by other parties.
