Mario BadilloRincon, 2 Others Hospitalized in Fatal Rollover Crash on Highway 152 near Harmon Road
MERCED COUNTY, CA (May 3, 2024) — Mario BadilloRincon and two others suffered moderate injuries in a deadly rollover accident on Highway 152 near Harmon Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the rollover crash happened around 3:54 p.m. Tuesday. For unknown reasons, 52-year-old BadilloRincon lost control of a westbound 2003 GMC in the No. 1 lane of Highway 152. While moving at a high rate of speed, per witnesses, the vehicle traveled to the No. 2 lane and veered off the shoulder before overturning multiple times down a dirt embankment.
Minutes later, emergency personnel responded and found a right-rear passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt with fatal injuries. Officials did not release the individual’s name.
BadilloRincon, of Los Banos, and two of his passengers who were wearing seat belts suffered moderate injuries and received care at Los Banos Memorial Hospital.
At this time, authorities do not suspect impairment to have factored into the cause. However, if anyone has additional insight, please call the CHP.
