One Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on 10 Freeway near Atlantic Avenue [Indio, CA]

Hit-and-Run Crash on 10 Freeway in Indio Injures At Least One Person

 
INDIO, CA (July 29, 2024) – At least one person was injured in a hit-and-run crash on 10 Freeway Friday afternoon on July 26.
 
The crash happened around 4:29 p.m. just south of Atlantic Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, an unknown vehicle slammed into the victim’s light blue vehicle along the eastbound lanes of the freeway.
 
After the crash, the suspect vehicle fled the scene.
 
When officers arrived, they located the victim’s vehicle totally damaged in the center divider. They also reported at least one person who sustained injuries from the crash.
 
The condition of the patient was not immediately clear. It was also unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved in the crash.
 
Further investigation is underway.
 
When driving, keep your eyes peeled on the road. Obey traffic rules and road signs, and practice defensive driving. Also, do not flee the scene when involved in a crash. Immediately stop and call 911.
