One Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 110 Freeway at Florence Avenue [Vermont Knolls, CA]

Pedestrian Dies in Early Morning Crash on 110 Freeway in Vermont Knolls Neighborhood

 
VERMONT KNOLLS, CA (July 21, 2024) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 110 Freeway in the South Los Angeles neighborhood of Vermont Knolls early Saturday morning on July 20.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:41 a.m. at Florence Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck the pedestrian along the northbound lanes of the freeway.
 
When officers arrived, they found the victim lying in the middle lanes of the freeway. Despite life-saving efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The victim’s name, gender and age were not immediately available.
 
It was unclear if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
 
CHP issued a SigAlert, closing the Florence off-ramp for several hours while they investigated the cause of the crash.
