Pedestrian Dies after Struck by UPS Delivery Truck on Highway 87 in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (July 22, 2024) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a UPS delivery truck on Highway 87 in San Jose late Saturday afternoon on July 20.
The fatal crash happened around 5:45 p.m. just north of Curtner Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was trying to cross the highway when they were struck by the delivery truck.
Fire department personnel responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
CHP officials said alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
