Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Whittier Boulevard in Montebello
MONTEBELLO, CA (July 24, 2024) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Whittier Boulevard and Garfield Avenue in Montebello on Tuesday evening.
The fatal crash happened just before 10:00 p.m. on July 23. According to the Montebello Police Department, a vehicle struck the pedestrian and took off.
First responders found the victim lying in the roadway with fatal injuries. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
The medical examiner’s office withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large. Police urged anyone with information about this case to call them at 323-887-1313.
