2 Injured in Car Accident on 205 Freeway [San Joaquin County, CA]

Two Hospitalized after San Joaquin County Car Accident on 205 Freeway near El Rancho Road

 
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (August 21, 2024) – Two people sustained injuries in a car accident on 205 Freeway, Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 19, at about 10:30 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a 2016 Chevrolet veered into a closed lane on a highway construction site. In the closed lane, a 27-year-old Caltrans contractor was working in the left rear bucket of a Dodge Ram.
 
A short time later, the Chevrolet collided with the rear of the Dodge Ram near El Rancho Road.
 
Emergency crews transported the Chevrolet driver to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. As per reports, the Caltrans contractor suffered moderate injuries.
 
CHP ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the collision. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
