One Killed in Broadside Accident at Harding Road and Golf Road [Turlock, CA]

Broadside Accident on Harding Road in Turlock Ends in Fatality

 
TURLOCK, CA (August 11, 2024) – One person died in a two-car accident at Harding Road and Golf Road in Turlock on Friday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:48 a.m. on August 9. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2001 Honda was traveling eastbound on Harding Road and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection. The driver of the car then accelerated out of the stop and into the path of 2013 Chevrolet that was heading south on Golf Road.
 
The 19-year-old driver of the Chevrolet from Turlock has the right of way and is not required to stop at that particular intersection.
 
The Chevrolet broadsided the Honda, causing both vehicles to continue in a southerly direction. Both then came to a stop south of the intersection.

As a result of the crash, the Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers said the unidentified driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The teen driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.

It was unknown if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. Further investigation is underway.
