73-Year-Old Woman Dies 13 Days After Head-On Crash in San Marcos
SAN MARCOS, CA (August 20, 2024) – Marcia Guadalupe Sanchez was killed in a head-on accident in San Marcos Sunday on August 4.
The fatal accident happened in the area of Deer Springs Road and Sycamore Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, Sanchez was driving a Scion sedan when she collided head-on with a pickup truck.
The impact of the crash caused Sanchez significant injuries.
Paramedics rushed Sanchez to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where she later died on August 17, 13 days after the crash.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as a 73-year-old San Marcos resident.
Sanchez was admitted to the hospital with a poor prognosis, and her condition steadily worsened until the time of her death, according to the medical examiner.
