Police Arrest 53-Year-Old Man for DUI after Fatally Striking Bicyclist on Marysville Boulevard
SACRAMENTO, CA (October 15, 2024) – A bicyclist was killed in a DUI crash on Marysville Boulevard in Sacramento late Saturday evening.
The fatal crash happened just after 11:30 p.m. on October 12, at Main Avenue. According to Sacramento Police Department, a car hit the bicyclist at the intersection.
Arriving officers found a male victim lying in the roadway with fatal injuries. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said the car took off before officers arrived, but it was found a short distance away.
The driver of the car, identified as 53-year-old Vicente Perez of West Sacramento, showed signs of intoxication. He was arrested on related charges.
At this time, the victim’s identity was not immediately available. The crash remains under investigation.
