Mario Romero Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Fairview Street [Santa Ana, CA]

42-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Santa Ana

 
SANTA ANA, CA (October 9, 2024) – Mario Alberto Romero was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Santa Ana Monday evening on October 7.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Fairview Street at Warner Avenue. According to the Santa Ana Police Department, Romero was walking at the intersection. As he crossed the road westbound on Fairview Street, an oncoming dark-colored sedan going southbound struck him.
 
After striking him, the driver of the sedan immediately fled the scene without stopping.
 
Romero suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 42-year-old Rowland Heights resident.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
 
An investigation is underway. Police urged anyone with information on the crash to call Detective Corporal Carrillo at 714-245-8208 or Santa Ana Police’s Traffic Division at 714-245-8200.
